Designing an Investor-Ready Startup Pitch Deck, Pt. 1

Echo Society, a bold new production startup, reimagines historical stories for today’s audiences across film, TV, podcasts, books, and immersive experiences. They commissioned me to create a dynamic, visually arresting investor pitch deck that would set them apart in a saturated content funding landscape.

The Ask

Design a cinematic, high-concept pitch deck for Echo Society’s investment round. The goal: convey the uniqueness of their IP model and multi-channel acceleration strategy in a format that blends editorial wit with visual punch. Needed to work across PDF, screen share, and print formats.

The Challenge

  • Mixed audience of VCs, execs, and indie investors
  • Needed to make financials engaging and digestible
  • Balance edgy storytelling with professional polish
  • Visualize multichannel rollout clearly
  • Align with Jessica’s founder-led brand

The Solution

  • Designed bold, colorful system with pop culture + museum motifs
  • Used playful juxtapositions (e.g., bubble gum over portraits) to signal irreverence
  • Structured modular sections for IP model, case studies, financials, and founder story
  • Kept charts and pitch language clear without losing creativity
  • Added humor and energetic typography for memorability

The Outcome

  • The deck positioned Echo Society as a serious yet inventive player in the IP development space.
  • It was shared with leading entertainment VCs and helped support fundraising conversations.
  • Jessica and her team praised the clarity, unexpectedness, and brand alignment of the final result.
